On the eastern edge of the beach, there stands a figure known as the Old Mariner. He offers the marital token, the Mermaid’s Pendant, for sale. He has to fulfil three requirements in order to show up:
- It is necessary to either buy the second community improvement or fix the bridge for 300 wood in order to gain access to the beach’s tide pools.
- It must be rainy outside.
- You have to enter the beach between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Note: Without the use of a Rain Totem, the Old Mariner will not come in the winter. He will not emerge during the Night Market (Winter 15–17), even if a Rain Totem is activated.
The player can buy the pendant for,000g if they are in a relationship with a marriage candidate who has ten hearts and have received a bouquet. He will say, “Glad the Amulet worked out for ye, lad/miss,” after utilising the pendant.
A player will declare, “I’ve got this old amulet to sell,” if he is not qualified to be married. nevertheless something tells me you’re not prepared for it, boy/girl.
The Old Mariner will say, “I can see that sparkle in yer eye, lad/miss,” if the player speaks to him while having ten hearts with an NPC but hasn’t upgraded the farmhouse. You must be incredibly infatuated. But I fear that having a larger home is necessary for a good marriage.
The Old Mariner will advise, “Don’t be shy, now,” if the player hasn’t handed the pendant to a potential spouse after buying it. Present the amulet to the person you plan to wed.
