In Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 14, 1987, Daniel Coulter Reynolds was born. He was raised in a Mormon home with eight siblings and is the son of author/lawyer Ronald Reynolds and Christene M. Callister. After completing his studies at Bonanza High School, Dan enrolled at the University of Nevada to study. Dan served as a missionary for two years in Nebraska at the age of 19. After serving his Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission, Reynolds moved to Brigham Young University to pursue studies in communications, marketing, and music. On March 5, 2011, Dan wed Aja Volkman; the two of them had four children together. In 2011, Dan and Aja started the indie rock group Egyptian, and the following year they released the “Egyptian – EP”. Reynolds and Volkman announced their divorce in April 2018, but he later stated they were getting back together. He declared their second separation in September 2022. In order to assist spread awareness of his ankylosing spondylitis, which is a kind of arthritis, Dan partnered with Novartis’s ThisASLife in 2016.
