Summary
Taking place at Godolkin University, the sole college in the United States exclusively dedicated to young adult superheroes and overseen by Vought International, Gen V is characterized as a bold, R-rated series that delves into the experiences of hormonally charged, competitive Supes. These superpowered individuals push their physical, sexual, and ethical limits to the extreme as they vie for lucrative contracts in top-tier cities. It’s a blend of a college-themed series and elements reminiscent of the Hunger Games, infused with the same blend of wit, satire, and adult content found in The Boys.

Development
Amazon made the announcement of a spinoff series on September 24, 2020, following the highly successful launch of The Boys Season 2. The spinoff, which shares the same universe as the original series, is penned by Craig Rosenberg, who serves as an executive producer on The Boys. While the spinoff had been in development for some time, its production was accelerated due to the immense popularity of the second season of the original show, which marked the most-watched global debut of any Amazon Original series.
However, there were some changes in the cast along the way. On March 11, 2022, it was revealed that the series had lost two of its lead actors. Subsequently, on April 25, 2022, it was announced that actress Reina Hardesty had also departed from the project.
The spinoff, now known as “Gen V,” continued the tradition of filming in Toronto, Canada. Principal photography commenced on May 2, 2022, and wrapped up on September 16, 2022.
