In a Dutch city, a deadly green mamba snake is on the loose.

A highly venomous green mamba snake escaped from a home in Tilburg, the Netherlands, as reported by a municipality spokesperson to CNN. The local authorities have issued warnings to the public to maintain a safe distance from the snake, which measures between 1.8 and 2 meters (approximately 6 to 6.5 feet) in length.

In the event of a bite, individuals are advised to immediately contact emergency services. The green mamba, a tropical snake, prefers warm and dark environments, making it unlikely for the snake to venture far from its owner’s home, especially given the cold Dutch winter conditions.

There are three species of green mamba, all originating from different regions in Africa. However, it was not specified which of these species the escaped snake belongs to. Typically found in trees, green mambas are known for their fast-acting venom, which can be fatal within days. Despite this, they are generally timid and rarely attack humans, with their natural prey being birds, small mammals, and lizards.
