For the first time since the show’s 2020 finale, the “Modern Family” ensemble got back together, but not everyone was there.
Instagram users Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Sofia Vergara, and Eric Stonestreet posted pictures and videos from the event.
Their “nearly perfect @modernfamily reunion” was described by Ferguson. Even our two fathers, Steve Levitan and Chris Lloyd, who are also co-creators, were present!
Actor Ty Burrell, known for his role as Phil Dunphy on ABC’s hit series “Modern Family” for 11 seasons, was notably absent from a recent gathering of the show’s cast. This absence raised concerns among fans about his wellbeing, particularly because Ariel Winter, who portrayed his on-screen daughter Alex, was seen holding a photo of Burrell in a group picture. Additionally, Sofia Vergara shared a video where cast members conveyed their missings to Burrell’s photo.
However, there’s no cause for alarm. Eric Stonestreet, who also starred in the show, provided an explanation on his social media. He shared that during their 11-year run of taking family pictures for “Modern Family,” he would jokingly suggest taking a photo without Ty Burrell each time. He continued the tradition at the recent reunion by bringing Burrell’s favorite picture of his character, Phil, since Burrell couldn’t attend the event, humorously fulfilling the ‘without Ty’ photo tradition.
Fans of “Modern Family” can still enjoy the show, as it is available for streaming on various platforms, including Hulu.
