‘Shadow and Bone’ among series canceled by Netflix

Netflix, following a period of stalled Hollywood productions due to strikes and contract negotiations, has decided to cancel several series.

Among the discontinued shows is the popular fantasy series “Shadow and Bone,” along with the comedy “Glamorous” and the sitcom “Agent Elvis.”

Leigh Bardugo, whose novels are the basis for “Shadow and Bone,” shared her feelings on Instagram regarding the show’s cancellation after its third season. She expressed her sorrow, stating, “The news hit me hard. I’m heartbroken and deeply disappointed.” Despite her disappointment, Bardugo also mentioned her gratitude for the opportunity to see her work adapted, acknowledging that many authors don’t get that chance or regret it if they do. She mentioned her pride in the adaptation and her plans to take time to process the news with some tears and perhaps a drink, while looking forward to future storytelling opportunities.

The decision to cancel these shows has also left many fans expressing their regret. On social media, some viewers have expressed hope that other networks or streaming services might continue these projects.
