Taraja Ramsess, a stuntman, actor, and martial artist recognized for his roles in the “Black Panther” and “Avengers” films, is being remembered following a tragic car accident in Georgia last week that claimed his life and the lives of three of his children. He was 41 years old.
The accident, as reported by Atlanta TV station WSB-TV, happened shortly before midnight on Halloween when the vehicle carrying Ramsess and his children collided with a tractor-trailer that had stalled in the left lane of an exit ramp from the interstate.
His mother, Akili Ramsess, who is a photojournalist and serves as the executive director of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), shared the heartbreaking news of his passing and the tragic loss of two of his daughters through an Instagram post.
In her emotional message, she wrote, “My beautiful, loving, talented son Taraja @chop.saki, along with two of my grand babies, his 13-year-old daughter Sundari and his 8-week-old newborn daughter Fujibo, were tragically killed in a devastating traffic accident the previous night.”
She also mentioned that two of Taraja Ramsess’ daughters survived the accident, with his three-year-old daughter, Shazia, being hospitalized, and his 10-year-old son, Kisasi, who was reported to be on life support.
In a later update, she sadly announced the passing of Kisasi as well.
Taraja Ramsess was not only an accomplished stuntman, actor, and martial artist but also a dedicated family man. His friend and X3 Sports trainer, Tony Tucci, expressed his deep sadness, describing Ramsess as a loving family man who often brought his children to watch his training sessions, and they would even join in on the training.
Renowned director Ava DuVernay, who was also a friend of Ramsess, shared her condolences on her Instagram account. She spoke about his profound love for his children, describing it as a joyful and complete love. DuVernay also mentioned Ramsess’ passion for filmmaking and his versatile roles within the industry.
Taraja Ramsess had an impressive list of credits to his name, including notable productions like “Avengers: End Game,” “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Creed III,” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.”
