Trio Tap House in Hays is a must-see if you ever get the chance. Honestly, it is one of my favorite places in town, and it is located at 1106 E 27th St. I visited shortly after Clay and Claudia, the new owners, took over in May 2024, and they’ve done a great job of maintaining the cozy, welcoming atmosphere that has always existed. Mario Gutierrez founded the establishment (it is actually named after his three sons how awesome is that?), and it still has a strong sense of community.
Whether you are passing through or out with friends or family, the atmosphere is ideal because it strikes the ideal mix between trendy and laid-back. What about the food? higher level. They have some of the best dry-aged USDA Prime steaks I have ever had, and they serve them with a great selection of craft beers or amazing craft cocktails. On a separate visit, I sampled a handcrafted salad and one of their seafood dishes, both of which were delicious.
They also have a large menu that includes sandwiches, burgers, and more. Just be aware that their hours are a little different: Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 9 PM, Thursday and Friday with lunch and dinner, and Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM. I promise you won’t want to miss this local treasure.
