Pay a visit to Paisley Pear Wine Bar, Bistro & Market if you are ever in downtown Hays, Kansas. I recently visited, and I must say that it’s one of the few places that does everything perfectly. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting as soon as you enter. It is evident that it is family-run, and they take pride in their work.

I was particularly impressed by how skillfully they combined a small market with a variety of Kansas-made goods, a bistro serving handcrafted meals, and a welcoming wine bar. I had lunch there (the flatbread was amazing) and a perfectly matched wine flight. Whether you’re craving a light meal or a hearty dinner, their 2025 menu offers a good selection. Additionally, given the quality, the prices are very fair.

To be honest, it is the type of place that can accommodate a private event, a romantic date night, or even a laid-back lunch off I-70. I will most certainly return, and I have already suggested it to a few friends. Make sure it’s on your list of things to do if you ever visit the area.
